Overview
Support complex, high-visibility assignments related to the expansion, transformation, and orchestration of FAO supply chains at a global level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead defined workstreams within broader supply chain action plan initiatives.
- Provide specialized technical inputs to end-to-end supply chain planning, coordination, and performance monitoring.
- Contribute to the design and refinement of supply chain processes, tools, and operating procedures.
- Conduct operational diagnostics and process mapping, identify bottlenecks and control gaps, and propose improvements.
- Support change management and rollout activities.
- Contribute to system enhancement work by gathering user needs, drafting requirements, supporting testing, and enabling user adoption.
- Design and deliver training and capacity development activities.
- Document lessons learned and best practices.
- Supervise or provide technical guidance to junior affiliate personnel.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in supply chain, logistics, operations, or related areas, preferably with the UN.
- Solid experience in end-to-end supply chain and logistics management, including planning, coordination, transport operations, warehousing, and emergency logistics preparedness.
- Demonstrated ability to provide specialized technical inputs to supply chain design, process improvement, business engagement, or capacity development initiatives.
- Experience contributing to or leading process mapping, analysis, and improvement activities.
- Experience supporting or managing project or operational budgets.
- Familiarity with humanitarian or development supply chain contexts is considered an asset.
- Experience in training development and facilitation, or change management is an asset.
- Experience working with, or alongside, UN agencies or comparable international organizations is an asset.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, business administration, economics, or a closely related field. Consultants with a bachelor's degree need two additional years of relevant professional experience.
