Overview
The Country Logistics Officer will provide comprehensive logistics support across all field offices under the SCI Yemen Program, including fleet management, warehouse/stock management, and asset management.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure centralized and effective management of vehicle fleets.
- Manage monthly Fleet Service Charge (FSCM) billing and quarterly reconciliation with Finance.
- Update the Fleet ProSave system regularly.
- Oversee the transportation of freight.
- Ensure centralized management of warehouse activities.
- Support warehouse operations with systematic reporting and inventory tracking using the Total Inventory Management (TIM) system.
- Compile and submit monthly warehouse reports.
- Compile and submit logistics reports (Fleet & Warehouse) to the Head of Supply Chain.
- Act as the Field Office focal point for the Total Inventory Management (TIM) system.
- Provide direct logistical support to Taiz Field Office operations.
- Support emergency response efforts in Taiz.
- Maintain effective liaison with local government offices, UN agencies, and NGOs regarding logistical matters in Taiz.
- Support field office logistics staff with technical assistance and contribute to building their capacity.
- Ensure that all logistics activities comply with Save the Children's policies.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in logistics, fleet, warehouse, and asset management, preferably with INGOs or humanitarian organizations.
- Previous experience in training and capacity building of staff and ability to provide supervision and support at a distance.
- Previous experience of managing and coordinating logistics over a number of different geographic locations.
Qualifications
• At least university degree in social science, economics, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, geography or other discipline relevant to Logistics management.
