Overview
Support strategy and interventions for, with and by young people and organizations, focusing on adolescent and youth participation and gender-transformative approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of SBC strategies and gender-transformative interventions that engage adolescents and young people as change makers through participation platforms.
- Strengthen adolescent and youth participation in programme design, delivery, and monitoring.
- Develop strategies to engage adolescents and young people by leveraging emerging trends in technology and innovation.
- Mainstream gender-transformative approaches across all programming.
- Design and implement a strategy for U-Reporter engagement and community mobilization.
- Monitor the development and implementation of roadmaps advancing the Dakar Declaration.
- Generate evidence-based recommendations to inform policy and improve practices.
- Provide support to the Gender Task Force and programmes in promoting this cross-cutting theme.
- Ensure the implementation of the ongoing gender initiatives within the Office.
- Document and share lessons learned and best practices with UN Volunteers across the regional project.
- Support and monitor initiatives that sustain programmes for the empowerment and leadership development of adolescents and young people.
Required Experience
3 years of experience in adolescent, youth, and gender programming.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in social sciences, gender studies, youth development, or related field.
