Overview

The role of Budget Officer involves managing funds for associated countries and the R&I administrative budget within the European Commission's Common Budget Service.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and execute calls for funds to associated countries.
  • Contribute to negotiations with potential associated countries on financial terms.
  • Represent DG RTD in joint committee meetings to address financial matters.
  • Support the coordination and monitoring of the R&I administrative budget.
  • Align budgetary aspects of Work Programmes with R&I Financial Programming and annual budgets.
Required Experience
  • Experience in EU budget processes.
  • Experience with the Financial Regulation.
Qualifications

• A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.

Other Details
Languages Required
• Thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU. • Satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of Horizon Europe and association agreements is a major advantage.
Contract Duration
The duration of the first contract will be 1 year. Subject to the interest of the service, the contract may be renewed one or more times up to a maximum duration of 6 years.
Work Modality
The place of employment will be in Brussels.
Remuneration
The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances.
