Overview

The role involves supporting a Polish Translation Unit within the Directorate-General for Translation by processing daily workflow, ensuring documentation accuracy and consistency, and performing preliminary linguistic checks. The agent will also assist with terminology queries and manage outsourced translation processes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Processing efficiently the daily workflow of incoming and outgoing documents (i.e. originals and translations).
  • Supporting the unit by ensuring the accuracy and consistency of documentation.
  • Performing preliminary linguistic checks.
  • Performing final technical checks.
  • Assisting with terminology queries.
  • Managing outsourced translation workflows, IT applications and processes.
  • Constant communication with colleagues within the unit, other colleagues within DGT, the requesters (in other directorates) and external stakeholders (such as DGT's contractors).
Required Experience

Experience in administrative support, in particular in the field of translation, will be an advantage.

Qualifications
  • A level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma, or
  • A level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education, and appropriate professional experience of at least three years.
Other Details
Languages Required
• A thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU • AND a satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU, to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of French or German would be an asset.
Contract Duration
The duration of the 1st contract will be up to 4 years. The contract might then be extended only once for a maximum of 2 years.
Work Modality
The place of employment will be Luxembourg.
Remuneration
The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances. The recruitment grade, as well as the step in that grade, will be determined in accordance with Commission Decision C(2025)4716 on policies for the engagement and use of temporary agents and with Commission Decision C(2013)8970 laying down the criteria applicable to classification in step on engagement. The recruitment grade will be calculated based on the qualifications and the number of years of professional experience, according to Art. 13 of the Commission Decision C (2025)4716. Higher grades may be granted exceptionally.
