Overview
The role involves providing assistance to Rule of Law Section portfolio holders, including National Legal Officers and Legal Advisers, to support the Mission's work in the area of rule of law.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring court cases and the human rights situation within justice sector institutions.
- Researching and analysing decisions by prosecutor’s offices and courts.
- Tracking information related to electoral fraud and hate crimes, and assisting in data collection.
- Conducting desk research in criminal and transitional justice and international human rights law.
- Drafting reports, memoranda, background papers, and talking points.
- Attending and summarizing conferences and meetings.
- Assisting in the organization of events.
- Translating documents from/to BCS/ENG.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Final year of higher education at graduate or postgraduate level or within two years after graduation.
- Knowledge of international legal standards, procedure and instruments, in particular in relation to international humanitarian and international criminal, and/or international human rights law.
- Knowledge of criminal law and procedure.
- Computer literate with practical experience using Microsoft applications.
