Overview
The Associate Legal Officer supports the Office of Legal Affairs by providing general legal support and advice to OSCE field operations and Institutions. The role involves conducting research and analysis on legal issues related to the organization's functions, structure, and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out research and preparing drafts on legal issues relating to the functions, structure and activities of the organization.
- Selecting and analyzing relevant international and national legal materials.
- Providing preliminary interpretation of legal instruments.
- Giving legal advice on issues of limited scope.
- Providing secretariat services to various committees and bodies.
Required Experience
A minimum of four years (two years with second-level university degree) of professional-level experience, including a minimum of two years with a governmental organization or international organization.
Qualifications
First-level university degree in law with specialization in public international law.
