Overview

This internship focuses on media communications within the Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA), aiming to support capacity development and partnership for water and sanitation operators.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate to conceptualize and create engaging multimedia content including videos, podcasts, infographics, flyers, and brochures.
  • Draft and edit content for public information materials, including social media posts, newsletters, and web stories.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of GWOPA outreach activities and workshops.
  • Assist in knowledge development, documentation, and management of the UN-Habitat Urban Basic Services Communities of Practice.
  • Assist with content management of the GWOPA website and other digital tools.
  • Provide online community support and platform transfer.
  • Undertake other assignments as required for the development and implementation of GWOPA's work programme.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), c. Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent. Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite). Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter. Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
