Overview
Consultant responsible for adapting and delivering training modules, developing monitoring tools, and coordinating in-country training activities related to SALW control in the Africa region.
Key Responsibilities
- Adapted online and in-person training modules and materials for SALW Fellowship participants in the Africa region, including French-language content.
- Developed monitoring and impact-tracking tool, including data input and monitoring support for individual projects undertaken by the 2026 SALW Fellowship cohort.
- Detailed workplan prepared for the implementation of in-country training activities in Togo and Benin.
- Background document produced in French highlighting recent trends and dynamics related to illicit SALW in the Africa region.
- Effective coordination and implementation support provided for the in-person training activities.
- Facilitation of at least two capacity-building sessions in each country.
- Monitoring and evaluation activities conducted for the training programme, including analysis of outcomes and participant engagement.
- Comprehensive report prepared on the training activities, including participant feedback, key findings, lessons learned, and recommendations.
- Final consultancy report submitted summarizing achievements, challenges, and strategic recommendations for future programme implementation.
- Article and web story prepared highlighting the achievements and impact of the SALW Fellowship Training Programme.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in conventional weapons and ammunition control, including at the regional and sub-regional levels, is required.
- Experience in research and analysis related to conventional weapons and ammunition control in Africa, including at the regional and sub-regional levels, is required.
- Experience supporting multilateral processes and initiatives related to conventional arms control is desirable.
Qualifications
• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in political science, international relations, law, humanitarian affairs, business administration, management, or a related field is required.
