Overview

Support municipalities in implementing the Child-Friendly Municipality (CFM) initiative by assisting with plans, budgets, community dialogue, and monitoring of social services for children.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist municipalities in operationalizing child-rights-sensitive plans and budgets.
  • Support the organization of local activities, facilitate coordination among municipal services, community actors, and local partners.
  • Contribute to monitoring the implementation of planned actions.
  • Support the establishment and facilitation of municipal mechanisms for dialogue and citizen engagement.
  • Contribute to the participatory monitoring of the accessibility and quality of social services for children and families.
  • Act as community mentors, supporting municipal officials and local liaisons in using tools for community mobilization, participatory monitoring, and data analysis.
Required Experience

No experience required.

Qualifications
  • Secondary school education or equivalent.
  • Voluntary service, community engagement or work experience can be considered in lieu of any formal education.
  • Experience as a U-Reporter with UNICEF is an asset.
  • A University degree is an asset.

Languages Required
Good command of French or English is required depending on duty station.

Contract Duration
6 months (with possibility of extension)

Remuneration
The applicable volunteer living allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities, and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health, and permanent disability insurance are included. In non-family duty stations that belong to hardship categories D or E, a Well-Being Differential (WBD) will be provided monthly.
