Overview
The Finance Assistant (Accountant Assistant) supports the accounting unit within the Finance department, ensuring compliance with Ukrainian legislation and reporting requirements. The role involves supporting the implementation of accounting policies and strengthening capacity of project and support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in checking, calculating and processing payments for business trips and maintenance of employee advances.
- Checking DRC Program activities related documents for compliance with Ukrainian legislation.
- Checking the availability of primary documents.
- Collection of documents and preparation for submission to the archive.
- Receiving inbound documentation for accounting processing.
- Control of supplier document authenticity, posting in BAF system and control of supplier information.
- Maintaining, timely entering transactions, posting primary documents, timely updating information in “BAF” ERP, posting bank statements, expense reports, and inventory write-offs.
- Accounting of property and liabilities.
- Support the registration of transactions and organization of document flow in the accounting system.
- Ensure compliance with the procedure for maintaining travel documents and checking report relevance.
- Ensure day-to-day accounting functions, including payments.
Required Experience
At least 3 years of experience in finance/accounting, preferably in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
Qualifications
- University degrees (bachelor’s in accounting / finance / audit).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and BAF.
- Advanced organizational skills.
- Speech and communication skills.
- Accuracy in paperwork.
