Overview
Programme Analyst, Women, Peace and Security contributes to the effective management of UN Women programs/projects on Women, Peace and Security by providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute technically to the development of programme strategies in the area of Women, Peace and Security.
- Provide substantive input to the design and formulation of programme/ project proposals and initiatives.
- Provide substantive technical support to the implementation and management of the Women, Peace and Security programme.
- Lead the implementation of programme activities.
- Coordinate and provide technical support in the implementation of programme activities.
- Provide technical input to the monitoring and reporting of the programme/ project.
- Provide substantive inputs to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
- Provide technical support to inter-agency coordination on Women, Peace and Security.
- Provide substantive inputs to advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts.
Required Experience
- At least 1 year of progressive responsible experience at the national or international level in managing complex and multi-component programme interventions with national partners, preferably related to Women, Peace and Security, is required.
- Experience in designing, coordinating, implementing, results, and budget monitoring and budgets of development programmes and projects is required.
- Experience in leading and coaching staff in international settings is required.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web-based management systems is required.
- Previous experience in managing projects under the Peace-Building Fund would be an added advantage.
- Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, social sciences, or other related areas is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.
