Overview
Provides substantive technical and coordination support for Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) interventions, focusing on programme management, monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide substantive inputs to programme/project design and formulation.
- Support the implementation of programme activities.
- Lead the coordination of calls for proposals and partner capacity assessment.
- Identify, research, analyze, prepare and organize information and briefing materials.
- Maintain relationships with national partners.
- Review, coordinate and monitor the submission of implementing partner reports.
- Identify opportunities for partner capacity building and facilitate training.
- Monitor progress of implementation of activities and finances.
- Establish mechanisms for monitoring programme implementation.
- Draft reports on monitoring, programme results, outputs and outcomes.
- Provide substantive inputs to donor and UN Women reports.
- Identify key opportunities for resource mobilization.
- Provide technical support to the development of partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
- Prepare social media assets and support increased visibility of UN Women's work.
- Draft communications/social media documents and messages.
- Develop background documents, briefs and presentations.
- Coordinate and organize events, trainings, workshops and knowledge products.
- Coordinate programme implementation meetings and knowledge exchanges.
- Supervise personnel as needed.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience working on development programme/project design, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building, including programmes addressing violence against women and its structural drivers, such as social norms and unpaid care work is required.
- Experience in the area of ending violence against women both in physical and digital spaces is desirable.
- Experience of developing knowledge management tools and products is desirable.
- Experience coordinating and liaising with civil society organizations, women’s rights organizations, public institutions and donors is required.
- Experience in monitoring and reporting for projects and programmes is required.
- Experience in coordinating advocacy and communications initiatives an asset.
- Experience working on partnerships and communications in the area of gender equality and women’s empowerment is desirable.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems is required.
- Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in international relations, social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A project/programme management certification would be an added advantage.
