Overview

Consultant to support the implementation of the ATHIS project by developing and delivering training plans and materials, and providing technical support for monitoring and evaluation strategies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the development of initial premises and identify priority thematic areas for the ATHIS training plan and materials.
  • Develop a training plan and related materials for an ATHIS training course, structured into three modules.
  • Deliver training sessions for each module, prioritizing practical, hands-on learning and field-based activities.
  • Provide technical support to the participatory development of the Monitoring and Evaluation Strategy.
  • Deliver virtual capacity-building sessions with global south ATHIS professionals for promoting Monitoring and Evaluation tools and methodologies.
  • Provide technical support and follow the development of a methodology handbook detailing step-by-step guidance on how to apply the Monitoring and Evaluation tool.
  • Conduct collaborative activities and training with CAU/SP professionals on the use of the Monitoring and Evaluation tools and their methodologies.
  • Design and apply mechanisms to assess participants’ learning outcomes and compile and analyze results.
  • Prepare reports as required, documenting the implementation of in-person and virtual training activities.
  • Participate in all field missions as required for the implementation of activities.
  • Complete all courses and training activities indicated by supervisor.
  • Prepare a Work Plan detailing deliverables, activities, timeline, tools, materials, missions, and logistics.
  • Elaborate a Training Package on ATHIS including introduction, objectives, modules, content outline, target audience, training plan and materials, activities, M&E tools, facilitator guides, logistics, and references.
  • Prepare a Training Sessions Report including list of sessions, methodology, activities calendar, participants, results, conclusion, recommendations, and annexes.
  • Prepare a Learning Evaluation Report including learning assessment tools, systematization of accomplishments, key-concepts, assessment overview, tools and instruments, implementation guidelines, data collection and management, reporting and use of findings, recommendations, and annexes.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in urban development and/or social housing in Brazil is required.
  • Experience in capacity building programmes and/or teaching is required.
  • Experience with social housing is desirable.
  • Experience with South-South Cooperation is desirable.
  • Experience in the social area and coordinating fieldwork, preferably in the public sector, is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in the United Nations is desirable.
  • Experience working in an inter-institutional environment, project management, monitoring-evaluation; approaches and strategies regarding good urban governance and local and regional development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism is required, or additional three (3) years of relevant experience to the post, beyond the requirement.
  • Postgraduate degree (Lato Sensu or Stricto Sensu) in Architecture and Urbanism, Geography, Sociology, Law, Social Work, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or related fields is desirable.
