Overview
The consultant will administer and operate Pure Storage, SAN, and NAS infrastructure, manage cloud storage services on AWS and Azure, and support Cohesity backup operations. The role also involves scripting, infrastructure as code, and contributing to storage migration projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and operate Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade environments.
- Manage enterprise SAN infrastructure across Brocade and Cisco MDS fabric switches.
- Administer NAS environments (EMC Unity and Pure FlashBlade).
- Monitor storage performance and health.
- Support capacity planning, tiering, deduplication, and lifecycle management.
- Manage and operate cloud storage services on AWS including S3, Storage Gateway, EFS, EBS, and AWS Backup.
- Manage and operate Azure storage services including Storage Accounts, Azure Files, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Backup, and Recovery Services Vaults.
- Ensure cloud storage configurations adhere to institutional security, compliance, and cost optimization standards.
- Support day-to-day Cohesity DataProtect operations.
- Assist in configuring backup policies for diverse workloads.
- Support implementation of data immutability and ransomware protections.
- Perform and document periodic restore tests.
- Assist with Cohesity cluster upgrades, capacity expansion, and cloud tiering/archival configuration.
- Develop or maintain scripts (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to automate routine storage and backup operational tasks.
- Support infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using Terraform for cloud storage resource provisioning.
- Assist in building and maintaining operational dashboards and automated reports.
- Support end-to-end storage migration projects.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (for example, in the IT field: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 1 year of related work experience).
- Strong hands-on experience with Pure Storage FlashArray and/or FlashBlade.
- Strong experience managing enterprise SAN environments — Brocade and/or Cisco MDS fabric switches.
- Strong experience with NAS platforms (EMC Unity and/or Pure FlashBlade).
- Good hands-on experience with AWS storage services — S3, Storage Gateway, EFS, and AWS Backup.
- Good hands-on experience with Azure storage services — Storage Accounts, Azure Blob, Azure Files, Azure Backup, and Recovery Services Vaults.
- Good working knowledge of Cohesity DataProtect.
- Familiarity with backup concepts.
- Good understanding of scripting for infrastructure automation — Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code principles and Terraform for cloud resource provisioning.
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows and Git-based version control.
- Strong experience leading or significantly contributing to storage migration projects.
