Overview
Consultant to design, build, and maintain RHEL-based infrastructure across data centers and cloud, automate OS configuration, and ensure system security and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain RHEL-based infrastructure.
- Build and manage gold/immutable images.
- Perform OS lifecycle management.
- Ensure system performance, availability, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate OS configuration.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Integrate infrastructure workflows.
- Remediate vulnerabilities.
- Implement and enforce CIS hardening standards.
- Handle CVE mitigation, package patching, and version control.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies.
- Manage Linux services, systemd, storage, networking, and user access.
- Troubleshoot OS performance, authentication, and package dependencies.
- Support enterprise tools.
- Implement least privilege access.
- Validate and audit access.
- Support SailPoint/IDM-driven access models.
- Integrate systems with monitoring/logging tools.
- Support incident response and root cause analysis.
- Ensure proactive detection of system anomalies.
- Maintain detailed documentation.
- Provide audit-ready reports.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 1 year of related work experience).
- Strong hands-on experience managing RHEL environments.
- Good working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewall management, and SSH hardening.
- Experience with LVM, disk partitioning, NFS/CIFS mounts, and storage management.
- Proficiency in Bash and/or Python scripting.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Chef.
- Experience with monitoring platforms such as Splunk.
- Experience with Linux clustering solutions and load balancing.
