Overview
The role of Procurement Associate involves implementing sustainable procurement strategies and policies, supporting procurement processes for country offices, projects, and UN agencies, and contributing to knowledge sharing in procurement within the Country Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement sustainable procurement strategies and policies in line with equity, integrity, and transparency principles to achieve best value for money.
- Ensure full compliance of procurement activities with UNDP rules, regulations, policies, and strategies.
- Provide input to the mapping of the Country Office (CO) procurement business processes in consultation with the direct supervisor and office management.
- Support the preparation of procurement plans for the country office and projects.
- Support the preparation of Request for Quotation (RFQ), Bid Tender Invitation (BTI), or Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, and receive and conduct a preliminary evaluation of quotations, bids, or proposals.
- Prepare purchase orders and contracts in e-procurement and outside, prepare recurring purchase orders for contract services, create vendor and buyer profiles in e-procurement; and maintain the filing system in the procurement unit.
- Prepare submissions for internal procurement review committees (CAP, RACP, and ACP).
- Update vendor lists.
- Participate in procurement training for operational and project staff.
- Make solid contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
Required Experience
- 3 years of relevant and progressively responsible administrative experience at the national and international level.
- Experience in the use of computers, office suites (MS Word, Excel, etc.), database software, and web-based management systems such as ERP.
Qualifications
• Master's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, economics, or equivalent.
