Overview
Manage the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of Gender in Humanitarian Action and Women's Economic Empowerment programmes. Provide technical support, oversee team and budget management, build partnerships, and lead knowledge building efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage programmatic development for GiHA and WEE programmes.
- Provide overall programme advisory support.
- Guide programme development and provide technical support to design and formulation of initiatives.
- Review and provide feedback to programme strategies and documents.
- Provide technical advice on programme planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting systems.
- Review and evaluate proposals and oversee donor proposal and report preparation.
- Draft policy documents, briefs and strategic papers.
- Provide technical support to programme implementation.
- Review programme annual work plans for compliance.
- Analyze and ensure alignment of project budgets with logical framework matrices and work plans.
- Draft reports on activities, outputs and outcomes.
- Compile information for country office donor and UN Women reports.
- Manage programme quality control and identification of potential challenges.
- Align programme activities with operations team.
- Build and manage relationships with national partners.
- Manage programme monitoring and reporting.
- Recommend and establish programme monitoring standards.
- Manage monitoring of results frameworks and performance indicators.
- Coordinate information gathering and prepare progress reports.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Prepare programme team for audits and monitor audit recommendations.
- Provide training on results-based management.
- Build partnerships and develop resource mobilization strategies.
- Analyze and research donor information.
- Develop partnerships based on strategic goals and country needs.
- Manage knowledge building efforts.
- Synthesize best practices and lessons learned for dissemination.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in programme management, including programme design, programme coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building is required.
- Technical experience in gender and humanitarian action and women’s economic empowerment is required.
- Experience in setting priorities, budgets, work plans, participating in programme development and programme writing is required.
- Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or development partners is desirable.
- Experience in leading on resource mobilization, especially in areas related to gender in humanitarian action and women’s economic empowerment is desirable.
- Experience working in the UN system is desirable.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Human Rights, Gender/Women's studies, International Development, or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.
