Overview
Support the country-level application of the practical Toolkit for law enforcement officials in Mozambique, focusing on institutionalizing human rights standards and good practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support OHCHR’s work on implementing HRC 56/19 in Mozambique.
- Contribute to planning and development of assessments, research and analysis in relation to Mozambique law enforcement institutions and normative frameworks.
- Provide support in the preparation and holding of missions, thematic workshops and training in Mozambique.
- Assist in planning for country-level application of the practical toolkit for law enforcement institutions tailored to Mozambique.
- Draft concept notes and reports of activities.
- Ensure gender and disability inclusion are integrated in all areas of work.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis over gaps and opportunities in relation to Mozambican law enforcement institutions.
- Design draft roadmap for country-level application of the practical Toolkit for law enforcement institutions in Mozambique.
- Draft concept notes for selected thematic workshops and related reports.
Required Experience
At least seven (7) years in human rights and law enforcement work is required. Expertise and experience in integration of human rights in law enforcement, including in the context of protests, is desired. Knowledge of training methodology is an asset.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in international relations, law enforcement, human rights or related field or alternatively a first-level university degree in combination with seven-year experience.
