Overview
The role involves supporting the development of a multidimensional study and a comprehensive toolkit on technology-facilitated violence against women and girls (TFVAWG) in Egypt, and establishing legal clinics at law schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and finalize the outline of a multidimensional study on TFVAWG.
- Review a study developed by a research entity.
- Integrate references to relevant national legislation, strategies, and action plans pertaining to TFVAWG.
- Ensure alignment with the national context for the study and toolkit.
- Review and finalize the outline of a comprehensive toolkit on responding to TFVAWG.
- Work with a consulting company on the toolkit's outline and key components.
- Review comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for legal clinics.
- Provide guidance on implementing SOPs at legal clinics.
- Co-deliver two sets of training to law students on operating legal clinics and providing legal aid.
- Develop recommendations and a policy paper for criminal justice actors involved in responding to cyber VAW&G.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional work experience in the law field at the international or national level is required.
- Proven experience in developing manuals and strategies related to gender and criminal justice is required.
- Practical professional experience in providing technical assistance and delivering training for criminal justice practitioners or related fields is required.
- Work experience within the United Nations system is desirable.
Qualifications
- An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, criminal law, international law, criminology, international relations, gender or law enforcement is required.
- A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
