Overview

The International Consultant will provide technical leadership in Belize and Suriname, offering technical support to implementing partners and RHCS technical support for the Sub-region. The role focuses on ensuring capacity building, advocacy, and policy dialogue align with UNFPA's policies and current advancements in sexual and reproductive health.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and project management support for project implementation, including partner engagement and roadmap planning.
  • Establish monitoring frameworks, facilitate progress reviews, and guide reporting mechanisms.
  • Provide technical leadership in establishing the adolescent girls mentorship programme.
  • Support implementing partners in developing comprehensive work plans.
  • Support capacity building of partners in comprehensive sexuality education (CSE).
  • Provide technical support to the Ministry of Health to enhance adolescent-friendly health services.
  • Provide technical assistance to Ministries of Health for SRH commodities forecasting, procurement, distribution, and tracking.
  • Support capacity building of healthcare providers on rights-based voluntary family planning.
  • Support advocacy efforts and policy dialogue initiatives.
  • Ensure synergies and alignment with SROC advocacy initiatives.
  • Support the preparation of donor reports.
  • Support evidence generation and knowledge management.
  • Support innovation and involve young people as innovators.
  • Provide technical guidance to SROC in the management of RH commodities.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be requested.
Required Experience

At least five years of progressively responsible professional working experience at national and international levels in programme planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation, in sexual and reproductive health. Experience in reproductive health commodity security management and supply chain strengthening. Experience in SRH, youth development and empowerment programming is essential. Current knowledge of the latest developments in adolescent programming and Youth Empowerment. Experience working in the Caribbean sub-region and with indigenous communities is an asset. Demonstrated leadership, facilitation, and teamwork skills and the ability to establish harmonious working relations in a multicultural environment. Demonstrated ability to transfer and enhance skills. Excellent communication skills are essential. Previous experience with the UN and specifically UNFPA will be an added advantage.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in Social Science, Public Health, or related field.
