Overview
UNICEF Ecuador is seeking a Communication Officer (Media Visibility & Advocacy) to support strategic advocacy, media engagement, and public positioning efforts that advance children’s rights and influence national dialogue and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing strategic intelligence and analysis to inform decision-making.
- Supporting the design and implementation of advocacy strategies.
- Leading the execution of positioning actions across media and public platforms.
- Ensuring coherence of institutional narrative across programmes and partnerships.
- Political, Social and Media Monitoring (Core Function).
- Advocacy & Communication Support.
- Advocacy Actions, Events and Public Engagement.
- Internal Coordination & Learning Support.
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience in communication, advocacy, public affairs, or related fields is required.
- Experience in analysis of political or social context and development of strategic communication or advocacy inputs is highly desirable.
- Experience working with media, public positioning, or campaigns is an asset.
- Experience with government, international organizations, or NGOs is desirable.
- Background/familiarity with emergency situations is desired.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
Qualifications
• Completed First level university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or any other related field is required.
