Overview
Support the design of an integrated spatial development plan with a financial mechanism to boost the humanitarian peace development nexus in cities and human settlements hosting migrants, IDPs, and vulnerable host communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of an integrated spatial development plan for selected territories in Grand Bandundu, incorporating land use mapping, conflict sensitive planning, and identification of sites for job creation.
- Assist in designing a financial mechanism to support youth and women led livelihoods.
- Contribute to police community dialogue sessions, documenting local land disputes and supporting referral pathways.
- Participate in the roll out of a land information system at territory level, helping collect and digitize customary and formal land rights data.
- Support area based assessments in IDP hosting settlements, identifying pressure points on natural resources and proposing inclusive digital solutions.
- Collaborate with humanitarian, peacebuilding, and development actors to ensure coherence between the area based development plan and ongoing aid operations.
- Finalize a detailed work plan with the supervisor, including regular check ins and performance feedback.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience (up to two years) in:
- Land governance, territorial planning, or community development in fragile or rural contexts
- Humanitarian development peace nexus or conflict sensitive programming
- Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture (studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Urban or regional planning, land governance, geography, development studies, law, political science, peace and conflict studies, economics, or related field.
