Overview
The internship will contribute to the UN development system's mandate of enhancing coherence through joint UNCT policy research and analysis. The intern will gain insight into UN operations at the country level, including agency functions, programming processes, and government interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Gathering quantitative and qualitative data from various sources.
- Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and proper formatting.
- Analyzing data using software tools to extract insights.
- Preparing charts, graphs, and dashboards for data visualization.
- Researching current policies, regulations, and laws.
- Comparing policies from different regions, sectors, or countries.
- Reviewing academic journals, government publications, and Development Partner reports.
- Keeping up with new trends, emerging policies, or regulatory changes.
- Writing research summaries, policy briefs, or internal reports.
- Creating presentations to showcase policy recommendations and data insights.
- Condensing complex findings into clear content for decision-makers.
- Assisting in organizing events or webinars.
- Planning and scheduling content for social media platforms.
- Tracking social media performance indicators.
- Supporting development and implementation of social media campaigns.
- Drafting news articles and success stories.
- Developing content and maintaining the organization’s website and digital platforms.
- Ensuring communications materials comply with branding guidelines.
- Participating in event coverage through photography and videography.
- Participating in training opportunities to improve skills.
- Keeping up with new trends in data analysis, policy-making, and emerging issues.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme.
- Preferred studies: Enrolled in a bachelor’s (final year) or master’s degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, international development studies, international relations, social sciences, political science, law, economics, or other relevant fields.
