Overview

Design and install a disability-inclusive flag-based early warning system and enhance stakeholder capacity to implement and sustain such systems.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project management and administrative support for flag-based early warning systems (EWS).
  • Coordinate with partners to test and develop the model flag-based EWS, its development and installation.
  • Provide technical support and quality assurance to local service providers in the design of a model flag-based EWS.
  • Support the design and facilitation of capacity building sessions on inclusive early warning systems and inclusive disaster management.
  • Work closely with NDFSI leadership and operational teams to enhance capacity and provide wider operational support in regard to inclusive DRR and EWS.
  • Support coordination with a range of stakeholders on early warning.
  • Responsible for programme management, reporting, and development of case studies and communications.
Required Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, early warning systems, disaster risk management, resilience, or public administration and related field in Solomon Islands is required. Work experience with relevant national and sub-national stakeholders in Solomon Islands is required. Experience in project management is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, social sciences, public administration, disaster risk management or related field is required.
