Overview
The Child Protection Officer will be responsible for the daily follow-up of Child Protection activities, providing support to implementing partners, and leading direct implementation in the field. The role includes psychosocial programming with children and youth, and capacity building for caregivers.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with line manager to identify project priorities and lead implementation of work plans.
- Ensure team members understand weekly priorities and provide guidance.
- Liaise with Supply chain, Finance and HR for field activity support.
- Lead needs assessment interviews.
- Monitor progress and resolve implementation issues.
- Ensure SC accountability systems are followed.
- Conduct field visits to ensure quality standards.
- Produce weekly and monthly quantitative and qualitative reports.
- Ensure programme interventions are integrated with other core sectors.
- Provide technical and organizational training and coaching to direct reports.
- Identify staffing needs and lead recruitment of direct reports.
- Identify staff capacity building needs.
- Ensure direct reports have clear performance and development objectives.
- Provide daily support to partners’ staff.
- Monitor partners’ activities implementation and ensure quality standards.
- Verify partners’ reports.
- Conduct training for partners’ staff.
- Ensure activities are developed in coordination with local authorities and stakeholders.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in the Child Protection field;
- At least two years of experience working with international NGOs;
- Experience in Psycho Social Support programming and community mobilisation;
- Ability to write weekly and monthly reports;
- Experience in team leading and handling programmes action plans.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in psychology, Social Work or other related studies
- Or bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of professional experience.
