Overview

This role will provide newly designated PSEA Focal Points within government ministries with essential knowledge, practical skills, and tools to prevent, detect, and respond to SEA in a survivor-centered, confidential, and coordinated manner.


Key Responsibilities
  • - Provide newly designated PSEA Focal Points within government ministries with essential knowledge, practical skills, and tools to prevent, detect, and respond to SEA in a survivor-centered, confidential, and coordinated manner, in line with inter-agency and national frameworks.
  • - Design and facilitate Arabic-language PSEA/GBV/GENDER training for government counterparts; ability to adapt materials to context.
  • - Develop technical documents.
Required Experience
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in PSEA/GBV/protection programming and capacity building in humanitarian or public-sector contexts.
  • Prior engagement with government counterparts on PSEA is key.
  • Proven experience designing and facilitating Arabic-language PSEA/GBV/GENDER training for government counterparts; ability to adapt materials to context.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inter-agency PSEA standards, survivor-centered approaches, and safe disclosure and referral procedures.
  • 8 years of experience in violence prevention and positive parenting responsive programming at the national and international level, preferably served in a developing country, is required.
  • Consultant must have completed at least two high-quality research reports in that period, at least two of them being related to early childhood or violence-related response.
  • Demonstration of excellent writing skills and strong communication, particularly for the development of technical documents, is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the latest developments and issues related to violence against children and/or parenting are essential.
  • Familiarity with Syrian government and public institutions and referral pathways; strong coordination skills with government and UN/INGO partners is key.
Qualifications

Advanced university degree (bachelors) in social sciences, law, protection, public administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
