Overview
UN Women seeks an International Consultant to conduct a systematic literature review on women's entrepreneurship, focusing on the care and green economies, to strengthen the evidence base for inclusive economic growth and women's economic empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an analytical framework and research design, including search strategies and screening parameters.
- Systematically extract and synthesize evidence from selected literature on definitions, typologies, constraints, support mechanisms, and outcomes of women-owned enterprises.
- Translate technical and academic evidence into a structured, policy-relevant narrative, summarizing implications for ecosystem actors and policymakers.
- Delineate how ecosystem actors can work together to create decent work and employment opportunities.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in conducting research on entrepreneurship, private sector development, business economics.
- Proven experience in conducting systematic literature review.
- Proven experience in conducting research on SMEs.
- Proven experience in conducting peer reviewed research.
- Proven experience in gender analysis.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Social Sciences, Gender/women's Studies, International Relations, Political/Development Studies, or other relevant discipline.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
