Overview
Support humanitarian affairs activities, including drafting documents, supporting advocacy efforts, and participating in work groups and meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support drafting talking points, memos and other documents to support communications with ERS contacts.
- Support developing respective strategic partnerships.
- Support advocacy efforts to mobilize resources.
- Support organization and participation in work groups, meetings, conferences, consultations.
- Assist in drafting and preparing background documents, reports, issue briefs, talking points, presentations etc. on humanitarian issues.
- Research, analyze, and present information gathered from diverse sources on assigned topics/issues.
- Maintain awareness of current humanitarian affairs and related issues.
- Respond to a variety of inquiries and information requests internally and externally, and prepare related correspondence.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Excellent knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Teams is required.
