Overview

Support humanitarian affairs activities, including drafting documents, supporting advocacy efforts, and participating in work groups and meetings.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support drafting talking points, memos and other documents to support communications with ERS contacts.
  • Support developing respective strategic partnerships.
  • Support advocacy efforts to mobilize resources.
  • Support organization and participation in work groups, meetings, conferences, consultations.
  • Assist in drafting and preparing background documents, reports, issue briefs, talking points, presentations etc. on humanitarian issues.
  • Research, analyze, and present information gathered from diverse sources on assigned topics/issues.
  • Maintain awareness of current humanitarian affairs and related issues.
  • Respond to a variety of inquiries and information requests internally and externally, and prepare related correspondence.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications
  • (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Excellent knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Teams is required.

Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Fluency or knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable.
