Overview
The Health, Safety, Social and Environmental Senior Analyst - Occupational Health & Safety is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring occupational health and safety policies and procedures, as well as managing the environmental and social aspects of projects. The role provides technical support to project teams, ensures compliance with applicable standards and regulations, and contributes to the promotion of a culture of occupational health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Elaborate and implement environmental and social management plans (ESMPs) for projects.
- Identify and assess environmental, social, health, and safety risks and impacts of projects.
- Ensure project compliance with national and international environmental and social standards.
- Conduct regular environmental and social audits of projects.
- Manage relationships with local project stakeholders regarding environmental and social issues.
- Contribute to the awareness and training of project teams and partners on environmental and social issues.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems for occupational health and safety performance.
- Collect and analyze data related to accidents, incidents, and occupational diseases.
- Prepare regular reports on occupational health and safety performance.
- Conduct regular occupational health and safety inspections and audits of sites and facilities.
- Contribute to project compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for occupational health and safety.
- Contribute to the awareness and training of project teams and partners on occupational health and safety issues.
Required Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in occupational health and safety, environmental and social management, or a related field.
- Experience in implementing occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
- Experience in managing environmental and social aspects of projects.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluating occupational health and safety performance.
- Desired: Experience working in a humanitarian or development context.
- Desired: Experience working with the United Nations or other international organizations.
- Desired: Experience working in Central Africa.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience; OR
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience; OR
- Technical/professional diploma with 6 years of relevant experience; OR
- Secondary school diploma with 8 years of relevant experience.
- Desired: Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA).
