Overview
Provide technical support for the restoration and scaling up of water and health care waste management systems in selected hospitals, focusing on assessment, supervision of rehabilitation works, and capacity building.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess requirements for restoration of water and health care waste management systems in 10 selected hospitals.
- Supervise engineering works in renovation and reconstruction of gender-sensitive, accessible toilets.
- Support the design of installation of water systems and improvement of waste management.
- Build local capacity and ensure alignment with WHO standards for WASH in health care facilities.
- Develop detailed bills of quantities and drawings for rehabilitation works.
- Support the development of cost estimates and draft bills of quantities in English and Myanmar languages.
- Provide technical support in call for tender for renovation process and prepare terms of reference for contractors.
- Coordinate with all parties regarding clearances and authorization for work progress.
- Review project solicitation documents and raise observations to the WHO technical team.
- Supervise the execution of contractor works using sound engineering methods.
- Coordinate with hospital administrative teams and resolve issues with the contractor.
- Follow up with the project timetable to assure timely delivery and completion of works.
- Prepare Project Reports and draft evaluation or situation reports.
- Support the development of a project dashboard and a project-specific risk register.
- Perform any other related incident-specific duties as required.
Required Experience
Experience in assessment of secondary hospitals, supervision of engineering works, and rehabilitation of WASH and health care waste management systems.
