Consultant Type B - Migration Health Nurse

Overview

Provide medical assistance for migrant beneficiaries accessing IOM medical services and support medical physicians. The role involves creating and updating medical records, coordinating referrals, and identifying special health needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide medical assistance for migrant beneficiaries.
• Assist medical physicians when needed.
• Create and update medical records.
• Coordinate medical referrals and follow up on treatment progress.
• Provide support for medical services in governmental health/medical facilities.
• Identify and advocate for special health needs.
• Contribute to strengthening and monitoring quality health services.
• Undertake health needs assessments of the migrant population.
• Highlight and ensure presentation of psychosocial needs.
• Monitor pre-departure medical checks and coordinate AVRR procedures.
• Conduct health promotion activities for migrants and host communities.
• Liaise with Community leaders and networks.
• Coordinate storage, maintenance, and procurement of medical equipment and supplies.
• Review services from a gender perspective.
• Assist Medical team in conducting medical convoys.
• Write, consolidate, and submit reports.
• Report back to the migrant medical physician.
• Respond to emergency calls throughout the day.

Required Experience

• Minimum two years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in the public health sector in Tunisia.
• Experience in community outreach and dialogue.
• Practical monitoring and evaluation experience.
• Experience working in Emergency situations, with emergency cases.

Qualifications

• University or technical degree in nursing.
