Overview

Gain experience in the humanitarian sector by supporting the Localization Management Unit's diaspora program team through content creation, storytelling, and communication support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support creation and promotion of engaging content (copy, videos, infographics, factsheets) using InDesign and Canva, adhering to DRC's corporate identity.
  • Monitor social media channels and digital platforms to share diaspora stories.
  • Research and draft human-interest stories on diaspora engagement.
  • Conduct interviews with diaspora members and local organizations.
  • Conduct rapid online diaspora response mapping and support distribution of new reports and research findings.
  • Extract key messages for targeted promotion through digital media platforms.
  • Provide end-to-end communication support for events across email and social media platforms (Mailchimp, LinkedIn).
  • Prepare event notices, distribute post-event reports, and support outreach to diaspora organizations.
  • Assist in organizing meetings and appointments, produce and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Edit and publish internal news on the organization's intranet.
  • Develop integrated communications plans across teams.
Required Experience

Currently enrolled in a master's program in communication studies, multimedia design, PR, journalism, or related fields, with a keen interest in the humanitarian sector. Alternatively, graduate-level students in development studies, political science, or international relations with hands-on experience in communication, social media, design, and digital communication are strongly encouraged to apply. Any knowledge or interest in the global localization agenda is an advantage. Experience in graphic design, video and content production for digital platforms is valuable but not required.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a master's program in communication studies, multimedia design, PR, journalism, or related fields. Graduate-level students in development studies, political science, or international relations.

Remuneration
