Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the Denmark Media Child Protection Project, leading strategy development, providing technical expertise, and ensuring project objectives are achieved.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, plan and monitor Denmark Media project activities in Rhino Camp and Imvepi refugee settlements.
  • Ensure high quality project activity narrative and financial reports are delivered timely.
  • Formalize and develop project related operational tools and training modules.
  • Lead on monthly, quarterly and annual donor reporting.
  • Regularly update the Project Management Tools (PMT).
  • Lead in the Project Management Meeting (PMM).
  • Representation of DRC and active participation in sectoral and relevant sub-sectors/working groups.
  • Oversee knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Monitor and develop relevant accountability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular capacity assessments of local partners and develop tailored capacity-strengthening plans.
  • Coordinate partner performance review meetings and monitor budget utilization.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on project implementation.
  • Monitor partner performance.
  • Lead and manage project staff members including coaching, ensuring coordination, and capacity development.
  • Support respectful and positive working relationships.
  • Lead and support recruitment processes.
  • Promote professional development by identifying training and capacity building opportunities.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and delivering protection programming for refugees and other vulnerable communities.
  • At least 3 years' experience with people management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the refugee context in Uganda, and West Nile in particular.
  • Experience designing technical components of protection programs, including demonstrated knowledge of protection information management systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social work, Social sciences, development studies, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Social work, Social sciences, Development studies, or related field (Desirable).
