Overview
The National Investment Coordinator will support UNIDO's efforts in investment promotion and facilitation in Angola, focusing on strengthening investment promotion agencies and advancing the Lobito Corridor agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up with selected project owners, investors, and partner institutions to support matchmaking and document leads.
- Facilitate matchmaking between project promoters and potential investors/FIs.
- Provide post-forum technical assistance to improve bankability and convert leads into investment discussions.
- Transpose selected investment opportunities onto UNIDO DIPS and Investment Platform.
- Support stakeholder engagement with investment promotion decision makers and institutions in Angola.
- Identify priority actions and potential programmatic actions linked to the Lobito Corridor.
- Provide ongoing technical assistance and capacity-building support to IPAs, IPIs, and Project Owners in Angola.
- Develop/refine professional investment decks for selected opportunities.
- Provide coaching to strengthen delivery for investor-facing events.
- Support the implementation of the Lobito Corridor programme, including investment facilitation and clean energy planning.
- Contribute to the formulation of the broader multi-country Lobito Corridor programme.
- Support UNIDO’s coordination and engagement with corridor institutions and partners.
Required Experience
A minimum of 5 (five) years of practical experience in the area of investment promotion in the context of technical cooperation activities/industrial development, financial analysis, and/or banking is required.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree in economics, business, or finance, or other relevant discipline with a specialization in industrial development is required. Alternatively, a first level university degree or an advanced technical college diploma may be acceptable provided it is combined with additional 5 years of professional hand-on experience that is directly relevant to the expertise required by the specific assignment.
