Overview
The Immigration Intern will work with a DOJ accredited representative on immigration matters related to client and community needs. This role involves providing information on legal procedures, completing application forms, and assisting with case management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general information on areas of law and procedure, such as eligibility requirements for adjustment of status or naturalization and application procedures.
- Complete application forms based on information provided by clients.
- Notify clients of follow-up information.
- Respond to requests for case status updates from clients.
- Assist with case management tasks, such as entering client information and updating client casefiles.
- Conduct intake and/or completing service agreements.
- Research Immigration related topics.
- Perform reviews of DHS issued policy, announcements of changes to rules and regulations.
- Facilitate the development of training materials for clients; develop program materials and contribute to standardization of programming.
- Conduct community outreach.
Required Experience
Experience in an immigration related field preferred
