Overview
The Protection from Violence (PfV) Officer position is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the Protection from Violence project portfolio in the North Area, contributing to the successful implementation of PfV programmes through service delivery, monitoring, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement civilian self-protection programming, deliver individual response services, and conduct protection monitoring, analysis and advocacy activities.
- Ensure the respect of NRC’s Code of Conduct, confidentiality and humanitarian principles.
- Collaborate with PfV Officers and PfV Assistants in direct service provision, including the provision of technical guidance.
- Produce regular reports and support the PfV Coordinator and PfV Specialist in submitting internal and donor reports.
- Assess, promote, and document ideas for technical improvement and further programme development options.
- Oversee and ensure achievements of targets of activities according to NRC and donors’ requirements.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationship with relevant stakeholders.
Required Experience
- Experience from working as a Project Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
- 1-3 years’ experience with Protection activities and programming.
- Experience conducting community engagement processes, consultations, and/or participator assessments is an advantage.
- Understand rights and protection issues of displacement-affected populations, experience in working on displacement-related issues in North Areas is an advantage.
