Overview
The Safeguarding & Social Inclusion Specialist ensures a safe and inclusive learning environment for youth in the RETRAP Agro Incubator, leading prevention and response to sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEA/SH) risks, and championing gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion (GEDSI).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement SEA/SH prevention and response measures.
- Deliver safeguarding inductions and regular training for staff, mentors, and partners.
- Establish confidential reporting systems and coordinate survivor-centered referrals.
- Ensure gender balance, disability inclusion, and equitable access in outreach, curricula, and mentorship.
- Conduct regular safeguarding risk reviews and advise on mitigation.
- Support MERL in safeguards reporting, disaggregated data collection, and donor compliance.
- Promote dignity, respect, and psychological safety across the incubator.
Required Experience
Strong background in safeguarding, SEA/SH prevention and response, with youth/vulnerable groups. Familiarity with World Bank ESS or similar donor frameworks. Proven GEDSI mainstreaming experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender/Development Studies, Social Work, or related field (Master’s preferred).
