Overview

The Project Territorial Analyst will support the implementation of the Corredores de Resiliencia project in coordination with national entities, environmental authorities, and local governments. The role aims to consolidate sustainable processes for integrated forest fire management, ecosystem restoration, and climate change adaptation in prioritized territories.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the coordination of financing for the BioSur strategy, ensuring project management, results, and resource mobilization.
  • Support territorial coordination, financing, and implementation of the project in the BioSur corridor.
  • Promote and ensure the integration of the project within the BioSur strategy.
  • Participate in internal and stakeholder coordination meetings.
  • Contribute to the programmatic articulation of UNDP in the territory.
  • Identify and manage programmatic and financial opportunities.
  • Promote and strengthen strategic alliances with territorial actors.
  • Lead the territorial project team in Nariño, guiding planning, execution, and field follow-up.
  • Support technical verification of activities carried out by third parties.
  • Support the technical orientation of the GEF BioSur project actions.
  • Manage technical and thematic project information, including collection, validation, analysis, and georeferencing.
  • Support project reporting and monitoring activities.
  • Participate in training and organize information sessions.
  • Support the dissemination and exchange of lessons learned.
  • Support the collection and systematization of project knowledge, products, and tools.
  • Accompany and support the implementation and compliance of social and environmental standards.
  • Support local capacity-building processes for institutions and communities.
Required Experience
  • Applicants with a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) must have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in at least one of the following:
  • Implementation and/or coordination of environmental, biodiversity conservation, or sustainable development projects in the department of Nariño.
  • Participatory processes with local communities, indigenous peoples, and territorial and inter-institutional organizations, aimed at sustainable territorial management.
Qualifications
  • Advanced university studies (Master's degree or equivalent) in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Climate Change, Risk Management, Sustainable Development, or related areas, is required.
  • University Professional Degree (Bachelor's level) in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Forestry Engineering, or related fields, in combination with 2 additional years of relevant experience, will be considered favorably in lieu of a Master's degree.
