Overview
Provide support in the implementation and monitoring of WASH-related activities in the IOM Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of the WASH strategy/response plan.
- Ensure project activities meet their intended scope, time, and budget.
- Provide information and documentation for project proposals and donor coordination.
- Prepare and review technical specifications, BoQs, and drawings for WASH infrastructure.
- Monitor project budgets and adhere to guidelines for budget line usage.
- Mentor, coach, and manage staff under supervision.
- Plan and supervise project procurements in line with specifications.
- Coordinate with IOM support units and inter-sectoral activities.
- Maintain communication with all stakeholders and transmit information upstream and downstream.
- Monitor project implementation through regular visits and data collection.
- Ensure project data and information are archived and shared appropriately.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports.
- Contribute to the integration of cross-cutting issues such as GBV, AAP, and Environment.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience
- Two years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree; or, four years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
- Experience in the implementation of WASH activities in developing countries, preferable in countries facing humanitarian crises and in support of emergency responses.
- Experience in the design and implementation of WASH infrastructure, including contract management.
- Experience in the implementation of activities that include the promotion of hygiene.
- Experience in the region is an advantage.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or, University degree in the above fields.
