Overview

Provide support in the implementation and monitoring of WASH-related activities in the IOM Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the WASH strategy/response plan.
  • Ensure project activities meet their intended scope, time, and budget.
  • Provide information and documentation for project proposals and donor coordination.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, BoQs, and drawings for WASH infrastructure.
  • Monitor project budgets and adhere to guidelines for budget line usage.
  • Mentor, coach, and manage staff under supervision.
  • Plan and supervise project procurements in line with specifications.
  • Coordinate with IOM support units and inter-sectoral activities.
  • Maintain communication with all stakeholders and transmit information upstream and downstream.
  • Monitor project implementation through regular visits and data collection.
  • Ensure project data and information are archived and shared appropriately.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports.
  • Contribute to the integration of cross-cutting issues such as GBV, AAP, and Environment.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience
  • Two years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree; or, four years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
  • Experience in the implementation of WASH activities in developing countries, preferable in countries facing humanitarian crises and in support of emergency responses.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of WASH infrastructure, including contract management.
  • Experience in the implementation of activities that include the promotion of hygiene.
  • Experience in the region is an advantage.
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Civil engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or, University degree in the above fields.

Fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an advantage.
