Overview
The role is for a Staff Officer (2030 Digitalisation - Artificial Intelligence Engineer) within the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) to lead the transformation of exercises by incorporating emerging defence technologies and AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide subject-matter-expert advice on AI tools.
- Highlight emerging technologies for digital transformation.
- Deploy, optimize, and manage LLM-powered applications.
- Fine-tune LLMs for future applications.
- Develop multi-modal solutions.
- Develop a roadmap for data initiatives and digital transformation integration.
- Develop and apply validation methodologies for data-centric programmes.
- Recommend and initiate projects for AI-based solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice on automation.
- Remain abreast of AI industry trends.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years’ functional experience of developing, managing, and adapting artificial intelligence systems including Large Language Models (LLMs).
- At least 2 year’s functional experience with Python, SQL and Spark or equivalent.
- Certification in Microsoft Azure Data Scientist or equivalent.
Qualifications
- University Degree in information technology, economics, statistics, operations research or related discipline and 3 years function related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in artificial intelligence systems, computational science, or related discipline.
- A recognized Project management Qualification (APM, Prince, AgilePM, etc.).
