Overview
The Assistant ERD will contribute to the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the economic component of an integrated protection and cash-based food assistance project for Congolese refugees. The role involves implementing cash transfer activities, in-kind distributions, and agricultural input provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and actively supervise the implementation of activities, ensuring beneficiaries are selected and registered according to targeting criteria and standard operating procedures.
- Supervise in-kind assistance distributions and cash transfers.
- Collaborate with other sectors, the Protection team, and partners to prioritize vulnerable clients.
- Prepare work plans and distribution schedules.
- Work with community facilitators/animators to provide technical support to refugees with entrepreneurial ideas.
- Support the development of income-generating activities for beneficiaries.
- Facilitate refugee participation in national and international events.
- Supervise community facilitators and other actors involved in economic development interventions.
- Conduct performance reviews of community facilitators and manage their performance cycle.
- Participate in identifying training needs and opportunities for community facilitators.
- Contribute to team building by promoting team spirit and cohesion.
- Ensure complete documentation of identified and assisted cases, including sources of verification.
- Support PBS Assistants in identifying PBS and building databases.
- Guarantee the confidentiality of collected information.
- Produce weekly and monthly reports.
- Raise community awareness on financial education and community-based protection.
- Contribute to strengthening community protection and accountability mechanisms.
- Ensure good collaboration with community leaders.
- Refer clients to appropriate services.
- Collaborate with other humanitarian partners and contribute to coordination efforts.
- Participate in case management coordination meetings.
- Participate in international days celebrated at Centers and sites.
- Participate in planning meetings.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of expenditure plans.
- Respect IRC's administrative, financial, and logistical procedures.
- Collaborate with the logistics manager and field colleagues to plan vehicle organization.
- Ensure strict adherence to available budgets.
- Represent IRC professionally with local authorities, community members, and other organizations.
- Strictly adhere to security instructions.
- Respect IRC's ethics policy.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
Required Experience
At least two (2) years of professional experience, including prior experience within an NGO is desirable. Have worked at least two years with a humanitarian organization supporting refugees.
Qualifications
University degree in sociology, economics, agronomy, community development, and/or any other related science.
