Overview
The Assistant PBS ensures the implementation of community protection activities and support for vulnerable persons, in line with IRC standards and project guidelines. The role involves organizing awareness-raising activities, capacity building for community animators, identifying specific needs, and supporting protection action plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify persons with specific protection needs.
- Provide case management services for identified or referred persons.
- Follow up on received cases.
- Refer and cross-reference persons with specific protection needs to other partners.
- Provide data on received cases to the Protection Officer for database updates.
- Participate in the preparation of international days.
- Prepare monthly and weekly activity plans.
- Collaborate with the Community Mobilization team for awareness events.
- Provide information and data for reports.
- Update the PBS database and physical beneficiary files.
- Strengthen the capacities of committees for persons with specific protection needs and refugees.
- Participate in planning meetings.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of expenditure plans.
- Plan project activity procurements.
- Establish material purchase requests.
- Comply with IRC administrative, financial, and logistical procedures.
- Collaborate with the logistics manager and field colleagues for vehicle organization.
- Strictly adhere to the budget.
- Maintain good relations with all stakeholders in camps and the community.
- Collaborate and explain the intervention component to others.
- Inform the protection officer of daily activities upon return from the field.
- Write activity reports as requested by the supervisor.
- Represent IRC professionally to local authorities, community members, and other organizations.
- Strictly adhere to security instructions.
- Comply with IRC's Code of Conduct.
- Perform any other tasks within IRC's mission as requested by the supervisor.
Required Experience
- Experience in organizing capacity building activities.
- Experience working with grassroots communities, particularly in rural areas.
- Experience working in refugee camps and/or host communities.
- Experience working in a constrained environment.
- Experience working in a context of vulnerable persons.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor's degree in social sciences.
