Junior Analyst — Sustainable Public Finance

Overview

The role involves conducting research, analysis, and drafting of policy and country evidence into usable analytical products for the update of a guide on sustainable public finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct desk research and literature reviews on new thematic areas of the guide and synthesise findings into structured analytical notes.
• Identify, compile and analyse Ministry of Finance country case studies and examples.
• Draft annotated content, boxes, figures and evidence summaries for sections of the guide.
• Synthesise technical inputs received from partners and member Ministries of Finance into clear analytical summaries.
• Conduct background analysis and prepare analytical briefing inputs for key engagements and meetings.

Required Experience

A minimum of one - two years of relevant professional experience in economic, fiscal, climate or sustainable finance policy research and analysis. Experience working with the United Nations, other international organisations or development partners is desirable. Familiarity with the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action or the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) is desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or equivalent) in economics, public finance, business administration, public policy, environmental policy, development or a closely related field is required. A Master’s degree in any of these or a closely related field would be considered an asset.
