Overview
The consultant will advise on market development and market linkages for the EU ACP Business Friendly Project, focusing on promoting market information, facilitating buyer identification, and supporting MSME product development and market access.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement market information dissemination activities.
- Identify and engage potential buyers, establishing a database.
- Facilitate promotional activities connecting MSMEs with buyers.
- Develop and deliver recommendations for market development workshops.
- Produce and disseminate product catalogues for MSMEs.
- Facilitate business-to-business introductions and support commercial opportunities.
- Research and recommend relevant trade fairs.
- Prepare MSMEs for participation in trade events.
- Facilitate collaboration initiatives and exchange opportunities.
- Deliver technical assistance and Training-of-Trainers sessions for BSOs.
- Assess and profile prospective MSMEs.
- Design and support implementation of impact surveys.
- Prepare written reports on market and product development.
- Review and update training materials and conduct ToT for market knowledge.
- Facilitate South-South learning exchanges.
- Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with honey companies.
- Support companies in developing route-to-market strategies.
- Deliver online group training sessions on market development.
- Facilitate South-South exchanges between honey MSMEs and agribusinesses.
Required Experience
At least 4 years of experience working with sustainable and inclusive food systems. Experience in communication and networking with interlocutors from different backgrounds. Extensive knowledge of the food and hospitality industry. Good understanding of international development project functioning and dynamics.
Qualifications
Postgraduate degree (MA/MSc/MBA, PHD or other) Postgraduate studies in Social Communication or related fields. Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.
