Overview
Provide assistance to the National Ozone Unit by developing technical materials for public awareness campaigns through social media management to achieve follower and engagement goals. Support awareness campaigns for the dissemination of information on ozone layer protection, climate change, and environmental regulations affecting the refrigeration and air conditioning sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop technical outreach materials.
- Manage multiple social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Create and implement a strategic social media plan with set follower and engagement goals.
- Support the development of two public awareness campaigns.
- Develop and organize content through a predefined template.
- Coordinate with related networks.
- Provide technical support for online events.
- Generate monthly performance reports.
- Maintain a regular posting schedule.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly newsletter by providing graphic material and text.
- Ensure social media posts align with the Ministry of Environment’s communications strategy.
- Disseminate information on ozone layer protection, climate change, and environmental regulations.
- Provide support for the development and production of technical outreach materials under Chile's HCFC Phase-out Management Plan (HPMP-III) and Kigali Implementation Plan (KIP-I).
- Ensure content shared through social media and websites is aligned with the NOU’s communication plan and international guidelines.
- Monitor and report on the performance of online campaigns.
- Disseminate information regarding HCFC phase-out and HFC phase-down activities.
- Promote training courses, workshops, and certification programs.
- Update and maintain the NOU’s social media platforms.
- Implement local versions of campaigns from international partners.
- Support continuity of the dissemination activities of the NOU.
- Increase awareness and encourage action on the management, use of alternatives, and phase-out of HCFCs.
- Dissemination of the current national regulations on the phase-out of HCFCs.
- Dissemination and awareness raising among the refrigeration and air conditioning sectors about the appropriate use of the substances controlled by the Montreal Protocol.
Required Experience
Two (2) years of working experience in development of public awareness/outreach programs for targeted audience and managing social media and public campaigns, including editing of publications on environmental matters is required. Experience in implementing awareness raising activities in the area of Montreal Protocol and dealing with communication and dissemination criteria of the Ministry of the Environment of Chile are highly desirable. Knowledge on the organizational structure of the Chilean public sector and competent authorities for the environment is desirable. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and to engage with public and private stakeholders is an asset.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or another related area of study is required.
