Overview
The Emergency Specialist (Anticipatory Action) is responsible for leading the management and implementation of the insurance-backed anticipatory action (AA) programme, providing technical, operational, and coordination support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management and implementation of the insurance-backed anticipatory action (AA) programme.
- Provide technical, operational, and coordination support to ensure effective programme delivery.
- Focus on Programme Management and Coordination.
- Focus on Technical Support and Leadership on Trigger Development and Risk Analytics.
- Focus on Support to Country Offices and Programme Implementation.
- Focus on Monitoring, Learning, Reporting and Knowledge Management.
- Focus on Contribution to UNICEF Broader Anticipatory Action and Disaster Risk Finance (DRF) Workstreams.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in humanitarian action, anticipatory action, disaster risk management, disaster risk finance or related fields is required.
- Experience in programme coordination and multi-stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated exposure to risk analysis, trigger development, or early warning system.
- Experience supporting country offices and programme implementation.
- Experience in monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management.
- Experience in budget tracking or financial monitoring is required.
Qualifications
Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in international development, disaster risk management, humanitarian affairs, economics, public policy, or a related field.
