Overview
The Senior Finance Assistant provides specialized services in finance, processing requests, and administering assigned tasks to ensure quality and accuracy. The role supports the WHO Global Service Centre in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
- - Deliver responsive services to customers and stakeholders in alignment with the GSC Service Catalogue.
- - Process requests received in ERP workflow, Corporate systems, or assigned directly by Supervisors.
- - Follow up on pending tasks to resolve within response times.
- - Seek advice or guidance from Supervisors and provide advice or guidance to other staff.
- - Communicate with colleagues within or across departments to seek confirmation or clarification.
- - Respond to enquiries and provide support, advice, and guidance to clients.
- - Assist with identification of system issues or enhancements, and in testing fixes and solutions.
- - Reconcile General Ledger accounts; prepare journal vouchers and accounting entries.
- - Analyze financial records and produce accurate management reports.
- - Make recommendations on improvement of work processes.
- - Perform team-specific duties related to Payroll and Pension, Accounts Payable, Awards, or Financial Reporting and Controls.
Required Experience
At least 8 years of recent relevant experience in administration of which at least 2 years working in the field of accounting, finance or payroll. Hands-on experience in the use of an ERP system such as Oracle is desirable.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary school education or its equivalent, complemented by training in accounting or book-keeping. A degree in Accountancy/Finance or any other professional certificate (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, etc.) is desirable.
