The Political Affairs Officer will identify emerging political and socio-economic issues, analyze implications, and make recommendations. The role involves generating integrated analysis and assessments to support decision-making and policy development.
A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in political issues, international relations, law, diplomacy, disarmament, security, international development, conflict resolution or related area is required. Experience working on Middle East issues and Syria in particular is required. Experience working on mediation, dialogue or facilitation processes is desirable. Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in political science, international relations, international economics, law, public administration or other related fields. A first- level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an advantage.
