Overview
Policy Officer role focused on sustainable finance and innovative financing solutions within the European Commission.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and formulate policy proposals and financial engineering solutions to mobilise private capital flows at scale to low- and middle-income countries for their sustainable growth.
- Provide strategic analyses and policy development activities on sustainable finance.
- Contribute to the successful deployment of the Global Green Bond Initiative (GGBI) and to the effort of the unit in promoting the use of green bonds towards our partner countries in the context of GGBI.
- Contribute to the successful deployment of the Sustainable Finance Advisory Hub in promoting a conducive environment for sustainable finance.
- Contribute to promote enhanced international coordination on sustainable finance and participate to international fora on sustainable finance, as well as engage in thematic dialogue with various stakeholders.
- Represent the Commission in meetings/negotiations with other EU institutions, international organisations, partner countries, public/private organisations and civil society concerning issues relevant to the work of the unit.
Required Experience
Sound understanding of financial markets, EU financial legislation applicable to institutional investors and the EU sustainable finance framework. Knowledge of financial markets and sustainable finance policies in Latin America, and the Caribbean region is an advantage. Experience in financial engineering and/or fund structuring is an asset. Proven ability to apply state of the art financial and economic analyses. Excellent analytical skills, written and oral communication skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Good sense of initiative and solid organisation and ability to cope with peaks of work.
Qualifications
Have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.
